This year’s event takes place on May 30 and will be part of the Global Ecommerce Summit (May 29 – June 1) under the theme “Shaping the future of digital commerce”. The Ecommerce Europe Annual Conference is Europe’s leading platform of e-commerce focused on information sharing, learning and networking.
How can Europe ensure its place in the future digital economy and foster cross-border e-commerce? These key questions will be at the heart of the day’s debate. In three theme sessions on e-Regulations, e-Payments and e-Logistics policymakers and industry leaders will analyze and debate the most pressing concerns of European e-commerce sector.

| Kaja Kallas
Member of the European Parliament Kaja Kallas is an Estonian politician. She is currently a Member of the European Parliament elected from Estonia and belongs to the Group of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe (ALDE). She has previously worked as an attorney-at-law and been a Member of the Parliament of Estonia (Riigikogu), where she chaired the Economic Affairs Committee. As an attorney, she specializsed in European and Estonian competition law as well as in the digital single market and energy. In the European Parliament Kaja Kallas serves on the Committee on Industry, Research and Energy (ITRE) and is a substitute for the Committee on the Internal Market and Consumer Protection (IMCO) and the Delegation for Relations with the United States. The European Parliament recently voted on her jointly drafted strategic report “Towards a Digital Single Market Act” which calls for ambitious action to remove barriers in the digital world and to avoid hindering the technological revolution by overregulating the sector. | Francisco Tur Hartmann
Deputy Head of Market Integration Division, European Central Bank Francisco joined the European Monetary Institute, the forerunner of the European Central Bank, in May 1995. Francisco participated in the development of the TARGET system (the Real Time Gross Settlement system for the euro). Since June 2005 he has been working in the Market Integration Division in the Directorate General Market Infrastructure and Payments of the European Central Bank. With almost 20 years of experience in Market Infrastructures, as Deputy Head of Division, Francisco conducts policy work aiming for further harmonization and integration of payments at European and global level, including clearing and settlement. Francisco holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science from the Universidad Autonoma de Barcelona (Spain). Francisco will join the e-Payments session as a panelist at the Ecommerce Europe Annual Conference. |
