For the first time in Bulgaria, on May 14 and 15, 2025, the landmark event – European Ecommerce Leaders Forum 2025, under the title “Driving innovation, sustainability and competitiveness” will be held. Sofia will be the capital of the European e-commerce business for 2025, which emphasizes the growing importance of Bulgaria in the landscape of this economic sector and the opportunity for our country to host the most representative and authoritative event for the e-commerce industry in Europe in 2025.
The event is hosted by Ecommerce Europe, the Bulgarian E-Commerce Association (BEA) and Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”. The forum will be attended by representatives of the European Commission, the EC Representation in Bulgaria, Ecommerce Europe, 250 C-Level guests from all over Europe, and e-commerce associations in Europe.
Welcoming the C-level digital business community and key stakeholders from across Europe, including policymakers, industry leaders and experts, the European Ecommerce Leaders Forum 2025 will foster valuable discussions on public policy, innovation, competitiveness and best practices at the European level, and facilitate knowledge sharing, policy dialogue and the building of strategic partnerships.
The main topics in focus of the forum are divided into 8 panels over 2 days.
The first day, May 14, is under the title “The road to scalability and more competitiveness” with the 4 topics in the panels:
- Digital Transformation & Technology;
- Customer Experience (CX) Mastery;
- Sustainability in E-commerce;
- Cross-Border E-commerce.
The second day, May 15, is titled “Compliance, innovation & future trends” with the 4 topics in the panels:
- B2B E-commerce;
- Digital Payments, Security and Trust in E-commerce;
- Driving Policy Dialogue;
- E-commerce in 2030.

The European Ecommerce Leaders Forum 2025 is a significant platform for the exchange of experience, new ideas and innovations in the field of e-commerce. It will be of great importance for the development of the industry both in Bulgaria and internationally. With its ambitious goals, the forum will provide an opportunity for meaningful discussion of key issues for the development of digital commerce and the integration of Bulgaria into the European Digital Single Market.
Collaboration between the public, private and academic sectors will give new impetus to entrepreneurship and respond to the new challenges facing business in the era of digitalization.
The event is held under the patronage of the Mayor of Sofia Municipality, Mr. Vasil Terziev.
